"YOUR NATURAL CHOICE FOR TERMITE CONTROL"

RAIN = FLIES

Property managers and home owners, the rains are here and with them we'll be seeing swarms of rain flies (termites). The wet conditions trigger heightened activity in subterranean termite colonies. It's that time again when you need to seriously review your properties existing treatment status.

Ask yourself:

1) When was the last time a service was carried out?

2) What type of service was it?

3) What was the chemical/ treatment used?

4) Was a warranty issued and if so is it valid or has it expired?

5) Are there signs of termite activity on your property?

6) When last has a trained technician done a proper inspection?

These are some of the important questions that need to be asked, not in isolation but together. To accurately asses your property's requirements, these questions should be addressed with the help of a trained consultant.

Here are some facts to think about.

- A foundation treatment to control subterranean termites on the average three bedroom home, costs approx. $7,000.00.

- With retreatment required every ten years, that's $700.00 per year over the life of the treatment.

Now compare that to the value of your property and it becomes apparent that you cannot get more economical insurance. In fact, it is cheaper than an annual public health type service for roaches, ants, etc. If one is to preserve the value of one's asset, costs such as these must be factored into the long term budget. While it may not be apparent at first glance, a proactive rather than a reactive approach can result in huge cost savings over all.

Look out for our next newsletter which will be aimed at the contractors and will address the inherent problems and delays, caused by the rains, in carrying out pre-construction treatments of slabs. We will offer some helpful tips and treatment options to combat the weather.
